Removal of Small Blood Vessels (spider veins)

Spider veins affect half of adult women at some point in their lives, often occuring during pregnancy. These tiny veins lie close to the surface of the skin and look like small blue, red, or purple clusters.

It is now fairly easy to get rid of spider veins. Dr. Alexander can remove small spider veins on the face using a technique called radio frequency vessel ablation.

How it works

Radio frequency ablation is a minimally invasive technique that seals damaged blood vessels rather than removing them. During this procedure, a tiny electrode is placed into the vessel and the vessel is obliterated. It is performed under local anaesthesia in an out-patient setting.

Recovery

Patients usually return to their daily activities in a day or two with minimal restrictions.

Consultations

Anyone considering facial plastic surgery should take the time to learn as much as possible about the procedures. Ask about a free cosmetic consultation with Dr. Alexander to discuss the procedures that might help you attain the appearance you want.
