Laser Resurfacing

Laser resurfacing uses a carbon dioxide laser to remove layers of damaged skin and fine wrinkles.

The treatment softens lines around the eyes and mouth, minimizes facial and acne scars, smooths and tightens eyelid skin, softens pucker marks, and repairs skin discoloration. The results can be dramatic and long-lasting.

How it works

Dr. Alexander will focus an intense beam of light energy on specific skin areas with a small wand. This light energy gently removes your outer layers of skin to allow new, healthy skin to grow in its place.

It works because the laser light is absorbed by the water in your skin cells. This absorption causes the cell to instantly vaporize. Only a 30 millionth of an inch of tissue is removed each time Dr. Alexander passes the laser light over your skin. This amazing control allows him to treat only as deeply as needed to remove wrinkles or to simply refresh and smooth your overall skin appearance. Once the damaged skin is gone, new skin quickly grows in its place.

Benefits

  • No cutting
  • Minimal or no bleeding
  • Relatively quick recovery time

Recovery time

Within 1 week you'll be able to go back to work or your normal daily activities. You can return to more strenuous activities within 2-4 weeks. Redness will typically be completely gone in 2 months or less.
